Hold onto your headphones, because a thunderclap just hit the global music scene, and it came all the way from India! In a moment that’s already being called historic, the incredible rock band Girish and The Chronicles (GATC) from Sikkim has officially become the FIRST EVER Indian rock band to perform on the legendary stage of America’s Got Talent (AGT)!

If you haven’t seen their performance yet, prepare to be absolutely stunned. This isn’t just a band; it’s a force of nature.
The Audition That BROKE The Internet:
GATC, known for their powerful classic hard rock sound that feels straight out of the 80s (in the best possible way!), took on one of music’s biggest modern anthems: Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain.”
Now, reimagining an iconic pop song as a full-blown rock masterpiece is no easy feat. But GATC didn’t just cover it; they REINVENTED IT. Frontman Girish Pradhan’s vocals soared, the guitars wailed with raw energy, and the drums laid down a thunderous beat that simply commanded attention.
The judges – Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofía Vergara, and Mel B – known for their tough critiques, were visibly taken aback. We’re talking standing ovations, shocked expressions, and a unanimous FOUR “YESES”! Simon Cowell, the man famous for his stern face, was reportedly left visibly stunned and Mel B called it her “favorite performance of the season.” That tells you everything!

More Than Just a Performance – It’s a Movement:
This isn’t just a big moment for GATC; it’s a massive leap for Indian independent music. For years, rock music from India has built a passionate following, but breaking through onto a global mainstream platform like AGT seemed like a distant dream. GATC just shattered that barrier.
Hailing from the picturesque state of Sikkim and now based in Bengaluru, GATC (formed in 2009 by brothers Girish and Yogesh Pradhan, along with Suraz Karki and Nagen Mongrati) has already rocked stages across Europe and even opened for rock legends Guns N’ Roses in Mumbai just a couple of weeks ago! Their journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Their appearance on AGT’s landmark 20th anniversary season, which aired on June 3rd in the US and June 4th internationally (you can find clips all over YouTube, Peacock, and social media!), means millions of new eyes and ears are discovering the raw talent and electrifying energy that Indian rock has to offer.
This is a proud moment for Sikkim, for Indian rock, and for every artist who dares to dream big. GATC just proved that talent, passion, and pure rock ‘n’ roll energy know no borders.
