Online virtue meet to decide the winners of slogan/poster Competition organised by Olympic Association.

Gangtok, July 27: An online virtual meet was organised today, to declare the winners Slogan/Poster Competition which was organised by Sikkim Olympic Association in collaboration with NSS Cell, Department of Sports and Youth Affairs for #Cheer4India campaign.

The competition carries cash prizes of Rs.15000/, Rs.10,000 and Rs. 5000/ for first, second and third and five consolation prizes of Rs.1000/each, sponsored by Sikkim Olympic Association.

The meet chaired by the President, Sikkim Olympic Association Shri Kuber Bhandari, was also attended by Arjuna awardee, who is also General Secretary of Sikkim Olympic Association Shri Jaslal Pradhan, NSS Programme Coordinators, Programme Officers, NSS volunteers and media personnel. State Nodal Officer Smt Lalita Chettri gave welcome address and State Coordinator Shri Tseten Bhutia conducted the programme.

The President highlighted the different works carried out by NSS units and also laid emphasis on motive behind holding such events.

He also briefed about the importance of Olympic movement followed by an analysis of the current Olympic Games being held in Tokyo. He further congratulated the winners after declaring their names and urged other volunteers to be a part of this #Cheer4India campaign. He highlighted the various interventions in the development of Sports in the State and about the cash award for winners in Olympics. He also requested the NSS volunteers to disseminate information at large.
Shri Jaslal Pradhan also highlighted the factors which would motivate the athletes in taking up sports seriously and aim at winning medals at the Olympics. He also briefed about the talents from grass root levels and nurturing them to achieve success.

The winners of the competition were-
1st- Swarnima Tiruwa Bojoghari Sr. Sec School
2nd-Kunga Dolma Bhutia, Yangyang Sr. Sec School
3rd-Prava Tamang, Sikkim University.

The winners of five consolation prizes were:
Dibya Thapa, Dentam SSS,
Bandana Rai Sikkim Govt College of Nursing, Samir Gurung, Sikkim University, Anjana Chhetri Lingmoo SSS, Umapati Bhandari, Nar Bahadur Degree College Tadong.

The meet ended with a vote of thanks from State NSS Coordinator Shri Tseten Bhutia.
