Indian Army column mobilised on requisition by the SDM, Chungthang, Sikkim to assist in Rescue and Relief operation for tourists stranded on the Lachung – Chungthang Road Axis in Sikkim due to heavy snowfall.

The column facilitated the opening of the road axis by manually clearing choke points, provided Medical Aid and hot meals to the stranded tourists.

Around 19 vehicles were facilitated access to #Chungthang, which were stuck due to heavy snowfall.
