First woman IPS officer from Sikkim, Aparajita Rai to Honoured with West Bengal Police Medal.

The first woman IPS officer from Sikkim, Aparajita Rai who is presently posted in Kolkata Police has been nominated for West Bengal Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Commendable Service. The medal would be conferred on the occasion on upcoming Independence Day on August 15.
She was alumni of Tashi Namgyal Academy, Gangtok and a state topper scoring 95 percent in ISC exams.She is the first woman IPS officer from Sikkim. She had appeared for the UPSC Civil Services exam in 2010 and 2011 and cleared both the times. She is also the first sikkimese to hold such a high rank in the civil services exam.
